AK Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2021 virtual classroom

Today we were learning about maori words and we also clicked on the links to go on some maori stuff I learned that mario can be fun and cool to learn and that now I know some maori words that our classroom learned,

Refugees

 WALT - Understand what effects Refugees. 

BLURB - We have been reading different stories about refugees, to get a better understanding about what types of struggles/challenges they go through on a daily basis.

Reading title and author: The polish Refugee children 

Where was the refugee from and where did they go: Babcia was from Poland and had to go to the USSR to a work camp. 

Describe the journey: The journey was difficult, and dangerous because they had to travel from country to country without being killed and it was also very hard to travel at a young age. And had to survive 

What happened to them in the new country: they discovered that Babcia and her brother and sister were

in New Zealand, they wanted to come here, too. After a lot of

difficulty, they were able to join their children in 1959. In 1967,

they became New Zealand citizens.

What did I learn from their story: I learnt that Babcia and her brother and sister traveled to many places like the USSR camp and Iran. They also could not go back to Poland their home because the soldiers were still there so they moved to New Zealand where they became New Zealand citizens.

Reflection: I learned that Researching about Refugees can be fun and cool to learn about and we can view their slide of the story to.           

 I enjoyed Reading with my reading group at my school and learning and also being able to get facts.  

I found it challenging trying to get my work done on time.                 

To improve I will try to get my Refugees blog posted faster.

Hayden Wilde

 WALT: learn and research about our chosen olympics person 

Blurb: our task was to do a chosen olympics person and also talk about him on my slide that I did and the,

person I did was Hayden Wilde.

Reflection: I did well with talking about Hayden Wilde and facts and what school he went to. 

I enjoyed: writing facts and learning about my person that I did which was Hayden Wilde. 

I found it challenging: to try found facts about Hayden Wilde because it was hard. to found facts about him. 

I could improve: by doing it faster because it took me a couple of days To get all my facts sorted.

I enjoyed doing some of the sites and the links that we had that we could go on. 

I found it challenging trying to do some of the sites and some were confusing  

To improve I needed to improve my sites that I was doing and add more detail to my sites that I talked about. 

Tongan Language Week

 

Our teacher wanted as to research about Tongan Language week I worked with my buddy and his Name is Hayden. we also go to the same school  

WALT: Research about Different Tongan words and also places numbers and other stuff 

And maybe next time I could add more words to the Tongan Language we were talking about

My Reflection: I did well with doing my Story board 

What I learned I learned that Refugees found values In different countries. 

What I could of done better was write a little bit more in the speech bubbles. 

Ready for learning!

This challenge is about setting myself up for learning during the lockdown. I will also need to have made sure I can find all my learning links, as well as set myself up in a good spot for online meets. 

W.A.L.T make sure we are ready for online learning. 

Reflection: 

I learned that... you should always have a wall close to you so other people in your family can´t walk behind you and distracted people on your google meet.

I found it challenging... trying to get my work done on time. 

To improve I will... maybe try to stay on task.
